The main reason why these dumbbells are so great is because they don't take up much room and are much cheaper than buying a whole set of dumbbells.A dumbbell set that goes from 5 to 100 lbs can cost you around $2500. That's a lot of money to spend dumbbells. The cheapest option is to get standard spinlock handles or olympic handles. You then have to purchase stand plates for the spinlocks and olympic plates for the olympic handles. Used weight plates can be purchase for a fraction of their original price so you should search your local area for deals. The only downside to spinlock or olympic handles is that it can take a few minutes to change the weight. This is a pair of olympic dumbbells. This is the cheapest option
If you want fast changing dumbbells, I recommend Powerblocks. These dumbbells take the least amount of time to change. Weight can be changed by simply placing the pin on the appropriate weight setting. I have the Sport 5.0 model but I recommend the sport 9.0 model. The Sport 5.0 only goes up to 65 lbs while the sport 9.0 is upgradable to 130 lbs. The Powerblocks are more expensive than the spinlock or olympic handles but it is worth it if you want quick changing dumbbells. These are powerblocks. These are pricier but are worth it if you want fast changing dumbbells
