Living with the effects of alcohol
What if you are the type that cannot give up drinking and the effects of alcohol don't matter to you? It's really a matter of personal choice.
What's more important to you? Making gains and getting stronger? Or getting buzzed, wasted, and waking up with hangovers?
I know that drinking alcohol can be a great time, especially in social settings.
Hanging out with your friends and feeling the buzz can be very appealing.
If you don't mind slowing down your progress in gaining muscle mass, then you can drink, but just do it once per week at most. Any more than that, and you might as well don't bother going to the gym.
In the end, alcohol and bodybuilding don't mix well at all. They go against each other. Giving up the best thing is life such as junkfood and alcohol can be tough for many people. But ask yourself, what is more important to you?
I used to enjoy drinking myself and made a cocktails almost everyday. But eversince I put bodybuilding before everything else, quitting for good was quite easy. I just told myself that I don't want to sacrifice any gains just for some alcohol. I even poured all of my alcohol down the sink to make sure that I don't drink again.
