What is a good shoulder workout?
A good shoulder workout is a simple and short one. The deltoids are a very small muscle group so it does not need a high volume routine to grow. Small muscles only need a minimal amount of sets to get bigger.
I think some of the best shoulder exercises are the military press and upright row. The military press allows you to push a lot of weight and this will help to add mass to your front deltoids.
The upright row is best for developing your side deltoids and your traps. So it is a great bang for the buck exercise because you can work your side delts and traps at the same time.
An optional exercise to include is the Dumbbell Rear Lateral Raise. This exercise targets your rear deltoids. Personally, I do not do this exercise because my rear deltoids get plenty of stimulus when I do barbell rows.
Stick to this simple workout and you will have broad shoulders in no time.

If you are working out at home with minimal equipment, you will want to use dumbbells for all of these shoulder exercises.
